Drilling

The "drilling" is another - and probably the best known - cutting manufacturing process. During drilling, the tool rotates around its own axis, moving into the material. So drilling is mainly used to create the surface inside a workpiece. Again, there`s a distinction between some procedures - depending on the workpiece shape to be generated. Round drilling, for example, is used to create cylindrical inner surfaces. Of course, with screw drilling, one obtains helical workpieces. Further drilling methods are profile drilling and form drilling.
